And the water will keep moving, and the paths and banks will change and stay true. LA BAND HOLY FOLK PREMIERES NEW SINGLE “TIME LAPSE” ON KCRW MUSIC BLOG, MAY 14

Excerpted from KCRW Music Blog
(click to hear Time Lapse)

“I could’ve taken it easy, but shallow things please me. Get myself lost in the time lapse” ... Time Lapse lyrics

Time Lapse” documents that moment when you awaken from the depths of a dreamlike relationship and find yourself alone and a bit broken.

The dream is over but the passage of time brings its own brand of salvation.  The melody sways and drifts, rises and glides down like the turns of the affair itself, until we reach the end and are returned to the present where everything is new.” -- Ryan George

The album “Motioning” will be out June 18 on Silver Side.

The band will be playing at The Echo Friday, May 17, and on June 20 at El Cid.

JETS OVERHEAD'S "BEACH DREAM" GRACES
CLINT EASTWOOD'S "TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE"

"Beach Dream" (to listen, click here) -- off of Jets Overhead's new album Boredom and Joy -- can be heard in Clint Eastwood's new film, "Trouble With the Curve".

This Canadian rock act -- hailing from Victoria, British Columbia -- will be following up their album with a release of remixes of the first single, the title track, for your grooving pleasure.

Here is singer Antonia Freybe-Smith's take on the “Beach Dream” track.

"Our home, Vancouver Island, is very beach-y. Beaches are important: the shape, smell, landmarks of certain beaches are locked into our brains and hearts. There’s the beach you go to when you want to party, there’s the beach you go to when you’re falling in love or out of love, there’s the beach you go to when everything’s going wrong and you need to be by yourself and try and figure out why."

"Beach Dream was formed in a delicious “Oh ya!” moment when we combined two different song chunks we were working on as a band. One of the chunks sprung from a particular special evening. That night, we decided to swap instruments to see what would happen. Little known fact: Piers Henwood can hold his own behind the drumkit."

"I have a neat memory of one of our last nights in New York: Recording tambourine on Beach Dream as we sip sparkling wine while sweating and dancing around in a little overheated iso room at Flux Studios on the Lower East Side…The sky, a dark electric blue beaming through the window as the winter evening sets in."

SAINT MOTEL
saintmotel.com/

The indie-pop LA based quartet’s new album “Voyeur” is getting some airplay in Los Angeles by KCRW and is also being featured online in their Album Preview Series.

The music program says, (on the release of their debut full-length album) ...

They have attacked it with gusto, adding dynamic touches to their rock-solid core of songwriting: percolating keyboard lines, grand piano gestures, wacky big-band samples, fiery horn sections, etc.  Songs like “Benny Goodman” and “Puzzle Pieces” chug along on the strength of their catchy riffs, but linger in the mind’s ear and warrant repeat listens due to smart arrangements and the alchemy of fun-loving pop music at its most pleasurable.

Photek has dropped a new EP (July 31) featuring his new single from DJ Kicks.

It's entitled Levitation Remix EP and features several remixes of the tune "Levitation".

The Souljazz Orchestra
, Canada's hardest-working super-group, have been perfecting their signature sound for over a decade now: a percussive explosion of Soul, Jazz, Afro, Latin and Caribbean rhythms, driven by majestic horn-drenched melodies, all backed by an arsenal of overheated primitive keyboards. The new record, Solidarity, will be coming out on September 12.

March 12 – Lucid Doom, Now, The Sweet Sweet Things, The Blank Tapes (BDay/Pisces Party!)

Silver Side Productions is excited to now be working with Colorado-based band, The Autumn Film.  This female singer-fronted act has several beautiful releases under its belt and recently introduced its fantastic new record, “8 Track Tape,” on Feb. 7.

The Autumn Film has a voice you’d swear you’ve heard before, although the band was voted “Best Band to Come out of Nowhere” by The Westword. Al-Attas’ voice is completely her own ... a huge voice, like an old friend, telling you secrets one minute, reassuring you the next. It’s spiritual, soothing, soft, but powerful enough to fill a room. It leaves goose bumps over and over again, each time the opening notes sound.

The record feels epic, and makes love sound as all-encompassing as it feels when you first find it. It’s at once intimate and larger than life, and utterly honest and confident.

Stay tuned for updates on the band: http://theautumnfilm.com/

More great news for iHEARTStereo! Their track, "Stereo" was placed in a spot for Burton Snowboards.

Happy Thanksgiving!  Silver Side Productions couldn’t be more pleased to have licensed the track “Jubilee” by one of our artists, Unwed Sailor, for use in Google’s national TV campaign for Google+.  Look out for it during your football game viewing and feasting on Thanksgiving Day.

Also check out Unwed Sailor’s sonically pleasing and powerful instrumental tunes (at times in the vein of Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, The Album Leaf). The act, fronted by Oklahoma native Johnathon Ford, released its first EP in 1998, “Firecracker” (which features Casey Wescott from Fleet Foxes among other notable artists from the indie scene) when Johnathon was in Seattle. “Jubilee” comes form the act’s innovative 2003 release “The Marionette and the Music Box” which explores a “storybook tale presented through classical baroque and nursery rhyme melodies, overlayed with organic/toy like percussion” For more information on Unwed Sailor, check out the band;s website at: http://unwedsailor.net/.

Jim Ward from Salad Days on Vimeo.

Silver Side Productions was honored to have Jim Ward play an acoustic set on the back deck of the offices this past August to showcase his first solo album, entitled “Quiet In The Valley, On The Shores the End Begins”.

The album, self released on Tembloroso Recordings out of El Paso, TX, features a track with Tegan Quin (of Tegan & Sara) called “Broken Songs”.   After the set SSP had the opportunity to catch up with Jim and discuss his storied past with the post-hardcore band, At The Drive-In, and what the future has to hold.

Born in El Paso,Texas, Jim Ward co-founded At The Drive-In when he was 17 years old.  At The Drive-In began their career playing small venues throughout the southwest, gaining attention and fans through word of mouth and heavy touring schedules.  The band played with the likes of Rage Against The Machine and The Get Up Kids.

Breaking up during constant touring to support their highly influential 2008 album “Relationships of Command”, members Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez went on to start the band The Mars Volta while Jim began Sparta and Sleepercar.

Sparta have released three records and toured the world, and Sleepercar, an alt-country project, released an album entitled “West Texas” in 2008 and opened up for Coldplay on tour. In addition to his work as a recording artist, Jim is running his record label collective, Tembloroso, and giving back to the El Paso music scene by managing a music theater to bring in touring bands to the city.

Silver Side Productions recently placed MagiCat in a commercial for the Canon PowerShot Camera - Your Second Shot "Zion"

NYC based MagiCat is comprised of Dave Liang of the electronic act The Shanghai Restoration Project, Sean Han of the indie band Blip Blip Bleep, and Emmy winner singer-songwriter, Michal Towber. Their six-song EP blends electronic sounds with organic rock and thematically pays homage to the classic “Alice In Wonderland” story, from the vantage point of the Cheshire Cat.

A portion of proceeds of sales of “MagiCat: Up The Rabbit Hole” goes to helping animals in need.  Check out the commercial and for more information on MagiCat - http://www.magicatmusic.com/.

While in Los Angeles, Adan Jodorowsky -- performing under the name Adanowsky -- stopped by the office to sign the wall.  Check out his new album, Amador, which debuted Nov. 8 ... and check out the LA Times Music Blog, Pop & Hiss feature: Adanowsky and the art of bedroom folk.

Son of the cult favorite Chilean film director Alejandro Jodorowsky, Adan grew up in Paris and Chile, surrounded by the arts. At an early age, James Brown showed him some dance moves and George Harrison taught him his first guitar chords. He’s now based in Mexico City and this record has songs in Spanish, English (including a co-write with Devendra Banhart) and a song in French. We’re falling in love with it and think you will too.

Check out this recent placement - Fall 2011 Campaign Video for Laundry by Shelli Segal featuring “Haunt You” by Nicole Simone, from Aurelien Levitan on Vimeo.

The song couldn’t be more fitting and the artist too, who in her own right is incredibly fashionable and classic.  http://www.nicolesimone.com/.

Mike, from SSP, had a great time being a guest on Moheak Radio.

The Donnas:
Bitchin

(rel 10/01/07 on Purple Feather Records

Having left previous label Atlantic following the release of the records ‘Spend the Night’ and ‘Gold Medal’, The Donnas ditch the pop frills and go hell for retro leather.

Album number seven represents a new level of maturity and independence for the ladies as they play double-duty as both hard-rock goddesses and savvy business women, taking their careers into their own hands with the launch of their own label, Purple Feather.

Feelings range from boyfriend tension to girl fight anger to party-time enthusiasm on Bitchin’.  The track “What Do I Have to Do” takes a peek into the band’s more vulnerable side through lyrics that tell the tale of a relationship gone rotten:

"I’m being way too nice/and you’re as cold as ice,” is heard, as well as, “What do I have to do to make you want me?”  “Girl Talk” is reminiscent of earlier Donnas tracks with lyrics that bring to mind the image of a high school hallway cat fight with a heated Anderson shouting, “Up & down the halls/writing on the walls…  Stop talking about me…” and, “Think you’re jealous much/all up in my business/girl I’ve had enough/you better start running.”

Spotlight Tracks:Don’t Wait Up for Me’, ‘Wasted’, ‘Save Me
